Western Railroad Discussion > UP 844, couple BNSF at Sedalia, Colo.

Tied up at a meeting in Denver until mid-morning, I figured I was going to miss Union Pacific's 4-8-4 #844 running North up the Joint Line into Denver yesterday but thanks to Intel provided by 3rdswitch (thanks JB!) it sounded like the special train was running a little late so I hustled down to Sedalia located South of Denver. As posted earlier, the 844 took a 1/2 hour break at Castle Rock so I ended up having plenty of time to spare!
1)The 844 was moving at a pretty good clip as she sails Northbound at Sedalia on Main #2.

2)Not wanting to waste a beautiful afternoon, I scouted around and found this location where I shot BNSF 6134 heading South with a coal load on Main #1 at the North switch of the Sedalia house track.

3)The surprise of the day however was catching the Big Lift local heading the wrong way South down the Northbound Main #2! BNSF GP38-2 2028 and SD40-2 1684 have 52 misc. gondolas, ballast cars and some strange copper loading cars that they shoved into the house track off of Main #2 at Sedalia, I imagine for storage.
