Three of the five trains I saw today, four via my velocipede.

1-2. Thanks to a heads up from Kirk Orndorff, made it trackside in time for a long DENTAC here in central Fort Collins, Colorado. But I almost missed these shots, batteries went dead!

3. Followed later by a coal empty at North yard. New batteries too.

4. Next I missed getting trackside in time for a ballast train but did get teh Switch headed south from CSU's campus as the sun started to hide in the shadows.

5. This is cutting it pretty close! The rest of the tracks were all in the shadows.

Great job, mon! At first, I could not quite place where the first shot was!
I ignored all the orange train traffic today, but did go up to Cheyenne with the usual suspects to pick up the 12 searchlight signal heads UP graciously set aside for us from the Hermosa signal modernizing to add 2 or 3 to the signal display at the Cheyenne museum. The plan is to do a cutaway so that the mechanism inside can be viewed while they are operating. They ended up being quite a load, and we had to take off the backboards so they wouldn't get bent up, as per our request UP was very careful taking them down for us and everything appears to be in good shape. Should make a unique display, a good winter project to combine the best parts and get them restored. === === = === JLH

Woohoo! I bet those are heavy!

Yeah, on the first shot, a different angle on Swallow. I've seen and wanted this shot with the humps but this is the first time I pulled it off. Needs major telephoto power.

Great photos! Thanks for sharing. I'm jealous you had time to get out and ride. I'm mostly too busy.
