Mmmm....lovely photo!

It's odd not seeing the opposing signal lit up "red" in photos like this one. The old searchlights did, or maybe the hood is blocking the light.

More likely that PB forgot to photoshop a red aspect into the signal.

Great shot, that signal should DEFINATLEY be lit and most likely is.

Great photo. If only UP would stop flying flags that are burnt to a crisp and stop using the flag as a marketing gimmick, too many have sacrificed too much for it to not be properly represented.

The new signal system does not light the opposing signal until the head end is about 300 ft past the signal. From what I can see in the mirror when I go past them.

Bob, you sure know how to make nice with the crews...they are always waving!

Depending on trains speed, there are occasions when several units get past a signal before it lites up. I have seen signals change from green to red (as seen from the train) as the third and fourth unit passes them, especially in zones like across Arizona where the track speed is 70 or higher for passenger trains.
