KCS Christmas train
Author: KB5WK

1) KCS 1 Arrived in Greenville TX 11/24/2012. The Christmas cars were shoved a little further down in the downtown area of Greenville. The line to the right is the Blacklands RR former Cotton Belt line from Ft. Worth to Mt. Pleasant TX.

2) KCS MW 913 former SP SD40 parked on the east end of Greenville TX across the Cotton Belt interlocker. 11/24/2012

3) KCS 4022 at KCS Wylie yard TX on 11/23/2012.

That MW SD 40 is a real cool catch. Haven't seen anything like that before.

Sure about that KCS 913? Pretty sure that's an ex-KCS SD40-2, and not a "straight" SD40. And while SP had SD40s, none went to KCS; the only ex-SP motors that KCS has picked up in recent years are tunnel motors.

Didn't KCS have some snoots too? Yes, formerly KCS 683. Painted April Fools Day no less, at Shreveport. Remote controlled for MofW use.

It's one of KCS's own SD40-2s, as another poster mentioned. They also purchased "snoot" SD40-2s.
