Western Railroad Discussion > CSX SD40-3 on a Boeing TrainDate: 12/12/12 13:58 CSX SD40-3 on a Boeing Train Author: NH2006 Occasionally interesting power on recent J trains here in Colorado. Recently had a single UP AC, now my very first SD40-3...tip of the hat to GuernseySwitch who was there at my side occasionally too...
Chased them up Mason Street (Fort Collins) on my DorkCycle single speed. Dang that's hard. Got to pedal fast like a hummingbird... 1. Idiot. 2. The new automobile traffic pattern makes for some difficult shots. Especially with early winter light. 3. Better chase the SD40-3 as I failed to get a good shot... 5. Finally an OK shot of the SD40-3 (under the circumstances). Now to cough up a lung. Date: 12/12/12 14:14 Re: CSX SD40-3 on a Boeing Train Author: mojaveflyer The cab on the SD40-3 reminds me of the cab IC put on their rebuilt switchers. Nice catch!

I liked that name when it was called that recently here on TO, in other posts. Thank's for posting,Bill Date: 12/12/12 15:06 Re: CSX SD40-3 on a Boeing Train Author: NH2006 Bonus southbound TACOMA just south of CSU's campus...barely made it from my office. Meeting a northbound stack train, it's almost like we have a real main line here!?!

Yeah, and now the curbs are tripping hazards as well. No one likes the new Mason Street, even the City of Fort Collins admitted it wasn't optimal... http://www.coloradoan.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=2012312090048&nclick_check=1 |
