Western Railroad Discussion > Art Gibson update (a lot more cheerful!)

Kathi & I were able to pay Art a visit at St Francis (hospital) in Topeka yesterday afternoon. The early reports of a serious stroke were exaggerated. This was due to Art flunking a motor-skills test SHORTLY AFTER someone in ICU had given him a very powerful sleeping pill. Go figure...;^) So this goofy news is actually good news! Art is now in his own room (#307) and is in great spirits. He's understandably a little tired & his words come a little slower than usual. But he's till the same Art we all know & love. He was moved & is very appreciative for all the kind thoughts & prayers we were able to relay to him from his "family" here on TO...

I've LOVED the KU/K-State rivalry since my childhood in the 60's. For Kansans it's a win-win situation. Even if you lose to that (rotten, no-good bums)
rival team from down or up the Kaw, you still lose to fellow Kansans...
