UP in Perry, KS 04/13/2013 - Interesting Consist
Author: mmisin2

Here is a time travel series of photos. When was the last time you saw three of these loco's lashed together and sequentially from a 600 series, 700 series, and 800 series? I often see two from these number series paired up but seldom three. What is more amazing is that some of their sister loco's are already restored in museums, ala 844 in Nevada. All of these units are ex-MP GP38-2's. The lead loco was delivered in 1977, the second and third were delivered in 1981. So in total, there are 90 combined years of loco's on this train. I can't imagine what the cumulative mileage total would be for the consist.

Nice day to be out rail fanning! Used the 790 last night as the switch engine in Topeka.

In Topeka? Probably not, seeing that the road ends in Lawrence.

I knew what you meant! It's not really what I get tired of doing. Being the low man on the totem pole, I get the scraps of what's left after every one with more seniority takes what they want. Right now, it's the night job in Topeka.
