BNSF Bayard(IA) Sub question
Author: mkerner

Today at Underwood,IA i saw a train powered by a GP39-2 and a GP40X they copied a warrant on the Bayard Sub and said they where the Bayard Local. Does anyone know the symbol for this job and days it works? I've loaded out of shipper next to tracks several times and this was first time i saw a train there.Mike

Last I knew the local leaves Omaha/CB on Sun, Tue, Fri. It returns on Mon, Wed, Sat. The crew typically boards the outbound at Madison Ave in CB around 0800. I do not know the symbol and have never heard the crew refer to it other than as the Bayard turn/local. This is a fun train to follow as it still handles car load traffic and switches along the way just like to old days.
