Comin' In Hot!

A very clean Union Pacific 8038 leads the westbound Z train through the Davis Amtrak Station on the hot afternoon of July 15th. Why can't I always be this lucky with power?

I presume you used a "strong" telephoto lens to get this shot--the kind of lens wildlife photographers use for rhinos, Cape buffalos and other large, ill-tempered beasts.

They are only new once! It's already showing signs of use on the windshield. Nice effect and nice shot.

Well new paint can make an old unit look new. Check out the CFNR GP15s. Those units are ancient but look nice and shiny... Unfortunately.

Already wishing to see the green and creams again.

True true...fresh paint is fresh paint. The orange on those GP15-1 will take some getting used to. The red/white/blue scheme was just catching on.
