Nice shots, Trevor. Good to see you out at Amtrak that afternoon, shooting that Westbound vehicle train.

Everything looks green, so they must be doing OK on rain and or snow melt. Great shots around Minot, especially the Gassman Bridge.

Excellent stuff!

It looks like that long reach of a cantilever signal bridge at Berthold is starting to sag already.

I am with Daze - that's one long cantilever signal bridge.

The photos of the train crossing the bridge at Bismarck as well as at Lyons are really nice. I've been wanting to photograph that big NP bridge for years but could not find your vantage spot last time I was there in 2006. Thinking another trip may be in order.

Did the UP tunnel motor appear abandoned or second-hand? They got rid of all T-2's several years ago.

It is second hand. I believe it is lettered NREX, and is used at the Enbridge Oil Loading Facility.

Des Lacs is just not right without the former GN wood tank.

Thanks for posting these.

NREX 2860 ex. UP/SP. During my visit it was parked on the elevator track next to Berthold Farm's ex. Belt Railway TR switcher.
