Western Railroad Discussion > After 26 Years...Date: 09/16/14 08:57 After 26 Years... Author: oklachaser ...there's still a MKT MP plate on a crossbuck sign at Gibson Station OK; on the UP Cherokee Sub formerly the KATY line. I was waiting for a train to arrive at a private crossing when I noticed it. Gibson Station is between Wagoner & Muskogee OK.
Photos taken September 14, 2014. Thanks for looking. Ronda Thomas Date: 09/16/14 12:59 Re: After 26 Years... Author: wa4umr Interesting. Thanks for sharing. It's amazing that it has been there all that time. It's also amazing that someone hasn't taken it, defaced it, or that no one has knocked the pole down. That wood does look like it's been there for awhile but will stand for may more years.
Not all pictures have to have trains in them to be interesting. John Date: 09/16/14 14:59 Re: After 26 Years... Author: UPTRAIN It's almost undoubtedly not the same post as installed by the Katy. UP performed an almost system wide replacement of all passive warning device equipped crossings around 2000-2001, replacing whatever was (or wasn't) at a crossing with the highly reflective posts and signage, including the new blue reflective DOT location signs.
However, a lot of the old stamped aluminum markers were transplanted onto the new timber. Pump Posted from iPhone |
