Iowa Trip Along US HWY 30 Pt 2...

Yesterday I posted part 1 of the trip I made with fellow TO member SCKP187 thru Iowa. Here are some photos of our 2nd day heading West as we made our way back to Oklahoma. This was the last day of our trip. We started the day in Denison IA where we spent the night. Please bear with me there will be 18 photos in this post.

Photo 18: As I was getting back in the car I noticed this in the corn field across the highway & I thought it was cute. It looked like someone had enlarged a photo of this little girl unhappy with the dog for chewing up her teddy bear at Dunlap IA.

How many trains per day does the U.P. run on this line? Quite an interesting mix of traffic.

60-70 per 24 hrs is the norm.

I love all the new signals that are tilting SIDEWAYS. Seems to be a constant problem with these new signal installations. How they ever installed the older searchlight signals, with correct vertical alignment, is amazing. Well, those old signals were installed by the "Greatest Generation" of Americans...
