4 SD45's take a manifest east out of Helena towards Townsend. A bit windy but you gotta get those 45's when you can.

The 4th unit is likely going to Livingston shops for repairs.

Great video, no GE will ever sound that good. Have they all been turned into razor blades or did they save one or two?

There's a three unit set of them leaving Missoula right now on a H KCKSPO...think BNSF has 12 leased now.

nothing quite like the EMD v20, agreed great vid. I know of 2 EL versions save 3607 sd45 in St Louis and 3639 SDP45 in Roanoke although the latter is basically rusting away on a forgotten side track.

I need a new video card, or the train was really jerking back and forth. Great shot.

It looked to me #1, #2, and #4 were running (exhaust distortion)
I didn't see evidence #3 was running.

Don't know how you did it, but I REALLY appreciate the effort you made to eliminate wind noise in the audio. Needless to say, I approve of the location...

Great video work - you really did an awesome job of showing off not only the classic consist but the gorgeous surroundings. Gotta get there someday...

Also, nice use of a wind baffle!!

Thanks Winston, and everyone else. I use a wind muffler, and place my vehicle in a strategic place!

I only came to the western board to look for information on the two trains colliding down in Arkansas and came across this. I could just listen to it and not even watch it, all day long - that is/was music to my ears. Reckon I need to check out this board more often - thanks for posting it.

Awesome video (as all the ones you posted the last few days are). You really have talent.

I can't believe that an old Northern Pacific whistle post is still in use on the MRL's main line, complete with boiler tube post!
