CREX 1422 FRS coal empty
Author: highgreengraphics

This afternoon, BNSF ran an E CRDETM 038 (St. Johns, AZ to E. Thunder Mine, Reno, WY) coal empty northbound on Colorado's northern Front Range led by CREX 1422. My wife and daughter loaded up in my vehicle and we had lunch and did some shopping first on this mostly-overcast Sunday, we made a day of it, following the train home.

Photo 1 - The train sneaked up on us at Broomfield, CO, here it is a mile west departing west Broomfield passing the approach sign.

Photo 2 - Motoring along in the snow south of Louisville, CO.

Photo 3 - Passing the Valmont Power Plant at Valmont, just east of Boulder, CO.

There's mooore...

Talk about a convoluted routing for this train! From St. Johns, Az. near Holbrook Az. on the transcon, East thru Belen to Amarillo, then North on the former FWD/C&S thru Trinidad and Pueblo, then Denver and on up to the Powder River Basin to reload. Sheesh!
