Western Railroad Discussion > Flatbed Containers in Bottom WellDate: 03/20/15 10:04 Flatbed Containers in Bottom Well Author: zchcsse On Trainorders, there has been some discussions about flatbed containers used in double stack service with accompanying photos of those containers in the top position. Some very understandable skepticism was stated about such containers being in the bottom well with a regular container atop it. Well, I've finally gotten some photos of that practice as I saw two trains on the Cajon Sub this past weekend with such configurations. As you can see, it's pretty wild looking! The loads in these particular flatbed containers are relatively large, so the effect of them being on the bottom and the top container "floating along" is diminished somewhat, but you can still get a sense as to how strange it looks!
