Streamlined Surprise!!!
Author: funnelfan

As you can imagine, the railfan grapevine went a little nuts yesterday morning in Spokane. No one was quite expecting the full CP Rail business train along with the A-B-A f units to show up for this shippers special, but it did. It's been more than decade since the train last came down the ex-Spokane International and Washy, so this rates right up there with a mainline steam chase. I chased the train from Spokane to Hinkle, and will have many more photos to post. But here are a few to start with. Current info has the train going to Portland overnight with a UP leader. It will leave Tuesday at 9:00am from Portland to go east with a UP leader (cab signals), and then back up the Washy/SI to Canada.

That is such a beautiful train both outside and in. Too bad it no longer offers public trips.

All three great shots, Ted, but #1 is outstanding. Looking forward to more photos of this sharp looking shippers special.

I see EHH's bright red cars are on the rear. Any shots of them?

WOW, three great looking pictures of one fantastic looking train! What a nice surprise for the area. Your first picture is a real eye opener! Wish I could have caught it in Marengo, WA. Thanks for the heads-up.

Extremely nice photos!

Hopefully Mr. H will realize potential public benefit (customers too) of running Heritage equipment every now and again!

Are you sure?  They still have an active website.

I think if you've got the bucks, you can charter the train to run just about anywhere on CPR.

Several "rare mileage" trips were run a decade or so ago.  I was lucky enough to be a passenger on one of them.
