Remember those campy 1950 sci fi flicks where giant creatures wrecks toy trains supposed to be the real thing.

What i do remember was a film called the Monolith Monsters about some giant crystals wrecking eberything in sight....does anyone remember seeing this and was there a railroad wrecking scene in that flick?

Any other monster train crunching memories out there?

Thanks for the photo. Anyone who has spent any amount of time around Monolith and has seen the condition of the trackage there shouldn't be surprised a bit at this event. Just west of the road crossing the track has been pretty much devoid of ballast for years and "pumps" badly as trains go over it. It seems to be a testament to the fact that a railroad doesn't maintain itself while the suits in the front office count their coupons.
