Western Railroad Discussion > Odd leader on BNSF-was it correct?

Good afternoon everyone, a friend of mine was alerted to a train on the BNSF Chillicothe sub this morning but didn't get to the tracks in time to see it. The lead locomotive was said to be GTW 4921. If anyone can help with a train symbol, we would greatly appreciate it. Too bad, it's been years since I've seen any GTW on the old ATSF! Thanks for any help.

4921 should be a GTW GP38-2. Which colors it's in, I don't know, but a lot of those 4900s (previously GTW5700s) are still blue.

That type of heritage unit would be nice to see.

Makes me wonder why would BNSF lead with a GP38-2 out on the mainline.  Bad number?
