Western Railroad Discussion > Above Alaska - October 5, 2016Date: 10/24/16 23:05 Above Alaska - October 5, 2016 Author: DRGW3002 Here are three aerial views of a very large 120N rolling north from Whittier to Anchorageon a glorious fall afternoon in the Last Frontier. In the first photo the monster train is curling around by Potter Marsh and about to dig into the climb to Anchorage. The second two views show the train entering Anchorage yard and passing over Ship Creek on the "Steel Bridge" with the ARR corporate headquarters in the foreground and the port of Anchorage, Cook Inlet and Mt. Susitna (Sleeping Lady) visible beyond. In the wide shot keen eyes will spot Denali - North America's highest peak about 160 miles to the north as the crow flies on this stunningly clear day.

Did you happen to get a car count? Didn't know about Sleeping Lady. We were lucky, we saw Denali when we flew out of Anchorage and for about a half hour on a Denali wildlife tour. mapboy Date: 10/25/16 12:37 Re: Above Alaska - October 5, 2016 Author: gmojim Is ARR headquarters the green roof building?
