Keddie Wye Traffic

Seeing a train on the Keddie Wye is a bucket list item for me.   Is there much traffic across the wye now?   Is there a best day or time to go?

About four Burlington Northern Santa Fe freights a day and maybe four to six Union Pacific freights daily. There's variations depending on the day.

BNSF both directions. UP almoat all downhill (west). There is a local that works between Portola or so and at Quincy Jct to set out empty center beams and pick up loads from the Sierra Pacific mill. Locomotives for that are usually SD-59MX (9900's).
