crossing the San Diego River

Crossing the San Diego River is a westbound Amtrak headed north towards Los Angeles taken February 13, 2017.  A new concrete bridge is under construction on the west side of the existing bridge.  After the new bridge is completed, the old bridge will be removed and a new concrete bridge will be constructed, which will extend double track from San Diego Santa Fe Station to Balboa Drive.  There is also another project to extend double track from there to the top of Miramar - also under construction.  East of these two new bridges will go a double track bridge for the new San Diego Trolley line to UCSD and University Town Center, as an extension of the blue line.  Immediate east of these are a pair of tracks on a newer concrete bridge which takes the Green line east up the river towards SDSU and Santee.
