Western Railroad Discussion > Victorville local runs interference

Somedays the dispatcher just doesn't cooperate.  Here is a shot from in between Helendale and Hodge, CA from last year.  Zach and I were set up for a nice ZSBDALT that we had beat to this location from Cajon Pass.  While driving up Rte 66, we passed the Victorville local switching at Oro Grande and thought we were safe for this shot.  Of course, the dispatcher chose to run the Victorville local just ahead of the Z-train, leaving me with this shot of the SBDALT just tucked in behind the trailing gondolas.  I figure that if 1 out of 10 shots turn out the way I intended, I am doing well.
