A Busy Sunday with Some Variety

It was a breezy partly cloudy day after a dusting of snow early this morning in Ritzville, WA on the BNSF Lakeside Sub. The high-low was 45/29 and a dusting of snow which melted by mid-morning. Traffic was busy today and was able to catch quite a few trains before attending a mid-afternoon birthday party. Here are the catches from today.

1. BNSF 477433 GN Heritage Hopper rolling in WB 834am grain train.
2. EB 902am manifest train with 8 units on the point with DPU and friendly toots fro the hogger.
3. GECX 2029 in the head-end mix of same train.

4. DPU BNSF 7028 on same train.
5. WB 917am grain train with BNSF 7007-H1 1064 on the point with DPU.
6. WB 1042am auto train with BNSF 7629-6626 on the pull with a friendly toot-toot from the hogger.

7. WB 109pm manifest train with BNSF 3795, green and cream 9635 and BNSF 6147 on the point at Bauman Rd.
8. Another shot of green and cream 9635 on same train.
9. EB 117pm manifest train with BNSF 7012-4180 and NS 8096 on the ull with DPU sitting in the second of two trains sitting in the hole at CP Tokio.

Those are US Army M88A2 armoured recovery vehicles.  They are like the 'tow truck' for tanks.

13. WB 132pm manifest train with BNSF 6965, UP 4362 and CP 8796 on the pull, no DPU
14. Another power shot of same train.
15. WB 144pm grain or potash train with BNSF 4967-7720-7310-6816 on the point, no DPU.

16. WB 157pm grain train with BNSF 7661-Hi 1008 on the pull with DPU and a friendly toot-toot and wave from the hogger.
17. Another shot of BNSF H1 1008 on same train.
18. WB 248pm grain train with BNSF 8255-7099-675 on the point with DPU.

I am rather certain that picture #15 grain or potash train came up the Laurel Sub Thursday afternoon. At that point, the 4th motor was on the back in dpu mode. It went in the hole at mm171 for a meet with the Sweetgrass Laurel mixed freight.

Very nice set of images and variety of train! It's always good to see the old "Wagon Wheel" SD70MACs still earning their keep.
