Western Railroad Discussion > Oregon Electric BCER 961Date: 03/06/17 02:37 Oregon Electric BCER 961 Author: railscenes Antique Powerland Museum has a wide variety of rail and non-rail equipment. One of their latest acquisitions is this Oregon Electric steeple cab that was just returned to it's home territory at Brooks, Oregon between I-5 and the current operator of the OE District of the Portland & Western mainline between Portland and Salem, OR. I'm new to the area so will let others go into the details. I took these snap shots March 1, 2017. The depot has the station name for a station close to Brooks called Hopmere. Would guess it is the Hops they grow in this part of the Willamette Valley.
Steve Rippeteau Date: 03/06/17 03:34 Re: Oregon Electric BCER 961 Author: funnelfan That's great news. Wonder if Mr Samuels wouldn't mind stringing cantenary along his line and they could put this baby to work! ;^D

The Pacific Northwest Chapter of the NRHS is giving financial support but additional funds will be needed to continue restoration and eventual operation. The OEHS has their museum and trolley operation out of the Hopmere depot.

She was a work horse and was even used to build our LRT system in the late 70's. As neat as it would have been to keep it here for our Streetcar association, its nice to see her make it back to her original place of operation.
