Extra-Large Local
Author: FiestaFoamer

A one-of-a-kind local eases into the Blue Mountains of Oregon at dusk, heading west; after switching in La Grande all day, the crew doesn't have much time left, and the dispatcher wants to get them over the hill right away. Today's train has ten head-end locomotives, a couple of cuts of what I presume are PTC test gondolas, a few cars of freight from La Grande, and three more locos on the rear. All this power has been hanging around La Grande in various duties: PTC testing, winter rescue helpers, dropping a ballast train at Harney pit, etc. Now it's all headed back to Hinkle for servicing. December 2016.
