Thanks for sharing. I'd assume the caboose was acquired by the RR second-hand. What's it's origin? It looks like a car from an Eastern RR.

Probably ex-Reading or ex-Lehigh Valley.
Not an ex-CNJ

This caboose is a 1943 Leheigh Valley caboose.  It is mint on the inside with all the original interior.

We have used it for a number of years on Charters with The Mount Emily Shay.

That is a great little caboose.  The railroad obviously maintained it well ( and it probably benefitted from not being in LA or some similar place where everything is vandalized to junk by the miscreants).  I hope the museum gives it equally good care.

It will be sad to see it leave "live rails" probably forever but if sure beats a lot of the alternatives. It's Lehigh Valley number was 95043.

Miscreants are in rural areas too. Lots of graffiti tagers of railroad equipment in small towns and far from places like Los Angeles or similar areas.

Now for the Caboose, it is a gem and well maintained. Neat piece of equipment!
