I had heard 3006 was to be cut up. Is this true?

Owned by "Marcus Rail" per the stencil under the cab. Can't find much on them.

From FB: Purchaser of railroad equipment. Typically, the company will purchase equipment slated for scrap and generally try to save the equipment. Oftentimes equipment has been sold, donated, or kept. In some rare instances it is scrapped.

I posted about Marcus Rail asking about it right before this thread.
But almost anytime I post something I don't get a response.

This site has a Light Rail stop and a great restaurant immediately to the east.

Denver Water likely to acquire this property.

News article mentioned, "Right now the Burnham site is zoned for industrial business and has a couple dozen buildings. Fletcher said another industrial use would make sense."

D&RGW 3006 was purchased by Marcus Rail, my company, back in 1999.

I moved the locomotive and cars to the location under a lease in place since 1997. Of the 22 cars at Burnham, 4 belong to Marcus Rail and the rest are owned by a non-profit, the Museum of Railway Workers (which I am the President of).

When Burnham Yard was closed, the Union Pacific canceled the lease and told me to move the equipment in 30 days. After understanding this was impossible it (the UP) gave me time to fix up the equipment, which I did. The UP was unwilling to offer an alternative location and instead canceled the other lease I had at Strasburg, Colorado. This will likely lead to the loss of more historic equipment including UP equipment.

I could not find another spot and move the equipment in the time provided. There are not many places to move a 1300 foot train.

The Union Pacific filed a lawsuit to take possession of the equipment at Burnham and sadly won. While I still own the equipment, the UP has "possession" of them.

At this junction, short of an exorcism, the UP's goal is to scrap the equipment in order to empty the yard. This despite the fact that 16 of the cars are on the Colorado State Register.

It (the UP) has talked about saving some of the equipment, but we shall see. The thing I don't get is that I am not a huge company, I am just someone who wants to save history, why didn't they help me?
