Great set of photos, amazing diversity from a location rarely seen here on TO. Thanks Ohio...

LOVE the angle you took the SDxx, NW5, and GP30 pics from. Will probably be basing some drawings off of these eventually!

Great stuff. Still hope to get to Duluth someday (must convince spouse it is a "vacation spot").

great photos.

still some ice in the lake at duluth after easter. mmmm, mmm, they hafta be hardy up there.

the GN from st. cloud west ran right below my aunt's house in the watab valley in stearns county. us cousins would hang out & wait for the freight to come by & crush our pennies on the long, hot summer afternoons in the 1950s.

Just remember, we Minnesotans call the North Shore the Norwegian Riviera!
Yes, we have four seasons: Nearly Winter, Winter, Still Winter, and Road Construction!

Great shots, and indeed, this area doesn't show up much on here.

I was surprised by the ice too, only because it was so mild in Chicago this winter that it never even appeared on Lake Michigan around here.

Great photos! Thanks for posting.
You did it right. Your photos are proof that Duluth is still a great area for railfanning.

Great bunch, looks to be still a fairly busy railroad. They finally got around to removing the second track on Proctor Hill. My last visit it was still in place.
