Western Railroad Discussion > One For The Roster Shot JunkiesDate: 04/23/17 10:33 One For The Roster Shot Junkies Author: Scone_Empire A rare treat to roll through Salt Lake City yesterday afternoon was this SD38-2 on Union Pacific's MRVRO-20. It was originally built Missouri Pacific SD40-2 No. 828 in Jan. 1974. Rebuilt by UP at their Jenks shops, the SD40/SD38 rebuilding program included replacement of the original 3000-horsepower 645E3 turbocharged engine with 2000-horsepower 645E blower engine, with rooftop filter box; original SD40-2 radiators and three-radiator-fan configuration were retained.
