KCS visits Western Wisconsin
Author: Quakerengr

Frac sand is booming once again here in Western Wis.
1st image, on Saturday May 27th, tho brings us to BNSF's BN's CB&Q's North Lacrosse yard we find BNSF 3007, previously, BN 3508, BN 3030 CB&Q 630, GP 40 with lotsa miles under its hood. Now relegated to Remote Control switch engine. Motors trailing are used for locals. Of interest all three, 1436-1922-1549 are now equipped for PTC and as such BNSF expects to get a few more miles out of these..
2nd image has us arriving at Bangor, Wis where CP train 674 has cut off KCS 4500, will be set up for DPU and 100 loads trailing on the main.
KCS 4811 has backed onto a previous cut off 100 sand loads from a separate mine that they left on the siding.
3rd image 674 starting to make the double to the main.

4th image has 674 dropping conductor off to pull train clear of switch so they can double back onto DP unit on the main.
5th image has 674 pulling by the Bangor-Burns Fire Dept.
6th image 674 has stopped, waiting for authority by train dispatcher to back onto their train. Of interest is the Meyer building, "1899".
After doubling train together this crew would pull train past Bangor west and then shove entire train into siding with the help of the local trainmaster. One road crew to put the 200 car train together, another crew will be called to actually take train south towards KC and most likely Texas.. Nice visit.
