UP derailment downtown Memphis

UP eastbound loaded coal going from Harahan Bridge to the CN at Memphis dropped several coal gons on the curve this morning blocking all 4 tracks. This affects all UP and BNSF traffic across the bridge between TN and Arkansas. Cleanup underway, no known eta on reopening, trains holding for now no word on detours.

There used to be a Holiday Inn right around there. 1976 WGRF was based there.

Correct, just west of Kentucky Street. Hopefully they were able to get some cleanup and repair done late yesterday, 2 inches of snow and 15 degrees in Memphis right now.
