Snow's here today gone tomorrow as sunny skies brought me track-side Friday starting with the NS 2564 leading the U NSBPEM into La Crosse WI. Two ex-Conrail motors lead the train this morning. The it was off to the Union Pacifi9c's Adams Line where I waited in Oxford (WI) along with this Sandhill Crane for an eastbound Coke train.

NS 2561, another rarity of sorts leading the Coke loads through Oxford WI and yes, it was worth the drive! Heading back to La Crosse....

Friday means the Union Pacific train LTA-42 heads home to Adams from Winona. Watching the train on ATCS I set up in Dresbach for the UP 1002 and company. While waiting I heard the CP Iowa Dispatcher give the KCE 4107 North a track warrant from KAINS (south of New Albin Iowa) to BLUFF (La Crescent MN) so after the UP passed I headed just south of La Crescent and found CP 375 and the KCS 4107.

Here is another image of CP 375 few mile north from the first location I photographed the train. Where o where did that pesky seven inches of snow from Wednesday go??? Lastly after a 4 to 5 year hiatas, the BNSF ore loads to Madison Illinois returned with the U KEEMAD and it's 160 ore jennies, 21000 tons of iron ore destined for the US Steel furnaces. What a nice way to end Friday, a truly EMD kind of Friday!

Very nice catches, especially that crane! And you got the kind with feathers and that flies, and not the kind with "Bucyrus Erie" on it -- < G > . I am surprised and very pleased you were able to get that close to that crane.
