Western Railroad Discussion > Graffiti crisis in SLODate: 04/24/18 09:09 Graffiti crisis in SLO Author: wjpyper They are having a graffiti crisis in squeaky clean San Luis Obispo, where billboards are not allowed and they have one of the most restrictive sign ordinances in the world. It seems that someone is unhappy with conditions at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and they are decorating the UP bridge over Monterey Street where it connects downtown to the "motel row" tourist area. Sigh.

Date: 04/24/18 14:20 Re: Graffiti crisis in SLO Author: ghemr The cosmetic condition of that bridge is far from squeaky clean even if there wasn't any graffiti!

Date: 04/24/18 15:36 Re: Graffiti crisis in SLO Author: wigwag Its increasingly unnerving for me when I get questioned by cops just because I have a camera in hand while these vandals who have no respect for the law seemingly get away with it again & again.
Date: 04/24/18 15:36 Re: Graffiti crisis in SLO Author: seod The "LABRATS" graffiti that was on the bridge of the tragic Amtrak wreck has been painted over so his moment of fame is over.
Scott O'Dell Date: 04/24/18 16:26 Re: Graffiti crisis in SLO Author: bradleymckay I lived in SLO for almost 10 years and went to high school there. Graffiti was extremely rare and there wasn't a homeless problem...usually just hitchhikers passing through town that had come down Hwy 1 from Monterey and Big Sur. They would spend the night on the lawn near the Mission and be gone the next day.
There are (some) racial tensions at Cal Poly after a frat member pulled a stupid stunt recently. Just sayin'...

Nearly the same principle used for insects except they are attracted to light and hate aerosol paint more than we. If this isn't acceptable, just beautify the bridge with a bit of concertina wire. Made and released a racist video from a Frat party. Could be the end for frats and sororities at Cal Poly SLO if some have their way. Date: 04/24/18 20:54 Re: Graffiti crisis in SLO Author: CPRR Ok my in box is full. Sorry for the suggestion of shooting the “artist”, and on another thread, cutting off the index finger of said artist who tagged up the cars at IRM.
Let’s treat every “artist” like children of today.....a slap on the wrist, no court appearance, and no clean up of what they destroyed. And for the email, could I cut off their finger....if found guilty, sure can. As for shooting, a 12 Gauge with salt in the shell would get their attention real quick.
