Signal Sunday: Lazy, hazy ochre equinox at Ellinor
Author: santafe199

Merriam-Webster defines ochre as (1): “…an earthy red or yellow iron ore used as a pigment” and (2): “…the color, especially of yellow ochre..” Mozilla Firefox says the spring equinox occurs @ 5:59 PM on March 20. And having fine-tuned my own particular style in this department, I hardly need to look up the definition of lazy.

Close enough for me…

1. Looking west through the silhouette of the darkened westbound signal bridge at Ellinor in the beating heart of the BNSF main line through Kansas. Dark signals mean no trains are imminent. No trains means time to kill. And the Land of OZ will often provide the atmospheric means to help a photographer kill that time…

Thanks for looking!

Looks like one of those situations where your window of opportunity for such a shot is only a few minutes.
