Author: MILW86A

I went over to Fremont and stayed the night on Sunday. Hotter than hades. My favorite country act Sawyer Brown was playing up the road in Oakland NE. So why not get a few trains eh?

1. Grading for the other main at California Jct Iowa. Anyone know the timetable for this to be done?

2. Here is the same WB train climbing the hill up to Arlington NE

3. In Fremont, BNSF UWATSIO goes past the depot

10. 7027 west with some CSXT trailing behind it

11. EB Loads at Main St

12. BNSF GBOPOMA on the west side of Fremont with the old CNW Cowboy in the background.

The heat got to me by then so it was time to head to the Motel for some Rest.

Thank you for looking.

Nice collection from my old stomping grounds. Fremont is a great place to watch trains.

Long story short, it's gone. Water damage between Nickerson and Hooper cut the line several years ago. Excursions continued to run to Nickerson and back to Fremont for a while. Although there were plans to fix the tracks, it never happened. There is a lot more to the story, but it won't fit in this space. I don't think rails have been formally pulled, but rails at many crossings are gone. As far as I know there is still equipment stranded in the yard at Hooper. Here are some shots I took last August.
