------------------------------------------------------- > What happened to the Fremont and Elkhorn Valley?? Long story short, it's gone. Water damage between Nickerson and Hooper cut the line several years ago. Excursions continued to run to Nickerson and back to Fremont for a while. Although there were plans to fix the tracks, it never happened. There is a lot more to the story, but it won't fit in this space. I don't think rails have been formally pulled, but rails at many crossings are gone. As far as I know there is still equipment stranded in the yard at Hooper. Here are some shots I took last August.
