A Couple from CN's Freeport Sub
Author: trainmandan

This evening I went up to CN's Freeport Subdivision just east of Seward, IL (Conger Road) to catch a couple of trains of interest. Here's a few shots of the action.

1) and 2) NS 9535 performs an unusual long hood forward movement leading a westbound grain train.

3) Watching the string of grain cars roll into the sun.

4) and 5) Running hot on the heels of the grain train, CN SD60 #5423 leads M337 towards Seward, where it will take the siding to meet M338.

6) Finally, one more of 5423 sitting in Seward proper waiting to meet M338.

Thanks for looking!

Nice to see some daytime action on the east end of the Iowa line to Chicago.
