Back on 10-13-18  on my way to Eastern Washington I shot video of an eastbound BNSF frieght on the ex-NP at Easton, WA but set up at the wrong location for the westernmost section of jointed rail which is just about two tenths of a mile long before going back to CWR.  However the hum from the sound of the train passing over rail recently grinded was kind of interesting and unusual.  Heading home the next day 10-14-18 I heard an eastbound coming down Stampede Pass so found the right spot at Easton, set up the camcorder and waited.  This time I got the video I wanted. The rail is 132# jointed rail from 1958/1960 and the empty grain train seemed noisier than any other I had heard on jointed rail before.  And the hum from the recently ground rail as the train picks up speed just added to the experience.  Usually it's just the locomotives passing by that seem noisy but this time the entire train gets into the act.

And to think, trains used to run 90 plus on stick rail. Yes I know, the roadbed was kept up better back then.  Great sound, thanks for posting.
