Western Railroad Discussion > Double Empty on the C&SDate: 12/06/18 06:01 Double Empty on the C&S Author: SD45X Last week, Climbing out of Royce NM.
Grenville, NM with the swing peeking around the curve. Folsom, NM. Too cold to fly long. Battery died quick. Date: 12/06/18 06:36 Re: Double Empty on the C&S Author: Bob3985 Great coverage of the coal empty move. I had heard that BNSF was doubling up the coal empties returning to the mines.

BB Date: 12/06/18 09:23 Re: Double Empty on the C&S Author: OregonOldGuy Photographing these trains is a real challenge. It will take a really special location to get the entire train in one shot. East of Triniday is oen area with possibilities.

Date: 12/06/18 15:42 Re: Double Empty on the C&S Author: skyview Hey hey, that angle from the drone reserved for me! Oh well, should have headed south with you. Excellent capture of the curve, shows it far better than anything on the ground. Well done!!!!!

When the BN ran the loaded coal SB through here, it was an amazing testament to the SD40-2's, U30C's and C30-7's that pulled those heavy loads up the grades. And to the crews for the monotonous running at 10mph in run 8 for hours and hours, Great series SD45X.
