MoPac Monday...

The MP was a cool railroad, nice to still see many of their cars around.

Thanks for posting the MP cars. That gondola in the first is looking extra tired - maybe its the camera angle, but it seems to be sagging in the middle.

If you look at the truck springs you can see that they're just about maxed out. This car is either over or right at it max weight.

Maybe to some outsiders, but people on the railroad know that MoPac management took over the classic UP and ruined it. Those who worked for UP before the MoP-UP merger (MP-UP-WP) in the early 1980's tell a tale of slash and burn tactics that came after the merger. Just a FYI.

The MoPac rank and file hoped the UP would've fired the MoP management types. Just the opposite, the MP people expressed "management by fear", abrasiveness and so much more.
