Back in March when my friend Matt and I visited Portland I got to see the 4449 inside the museum. I looked over to him and said I need to see it run. A couple months ago we had a plan to fly out to Portland to see it run the Holiday trains. The plan was a success and it was a sight to see the 4449 under steam. For the first 3 runs Doyle McCormack was at the throttle making for a humbling experience. It was worth flying 2500 milesWe bought step ladders and walked a total of 5 miles up and down the path getting every angle we could possibly get

Very, VERY nice!!!!     Maybe you should also post all this nice photos over on the "Steam Railroading" (Steam and Excursion) board.

The breakneck speed that thing runs at is truly dangerous, that and the cooler weather sure makes
steam look good! Excellent array of shots, appreciate the work.

A truly excellent series, was this a combination of conventional and drone photography?

On my trips riding the Holiday Express over the past 10 years, I usually wind up with one good picture per outing, but it looks like you got 40+ here :o)
