Western Railroad Discussion > Six images from Sunday

We had a dreadfully cloudy and rainy past weekend here in Southern California. Sunday being the better of the two days, I found some clearing on the BNSF east of Summit in the morning.

1) At 8:15AM BNSF 3785 and Citirail 1428 were just starting to move on the rear of a westbound stack train as I arrived at Martinez (MP54).

2) Moving a few miles east to Hesperia, another basic BNSF westbound with a clean trio of GE’s led by 7346.

3) Still at Hesperia, a nice surprise was UP 8329 leading an eastbound manifest with the two ex-Amtrak units said to be bound for the Nevada State Railroad Museum at Boulder City. See the link from Saturday  https://www.trainorders.com/discussion/read.php?1,4703454

4) Units DYRX 644 SDP40F and 231 F40.

5) A going-away look.

6) An afternoon filler shot of BNSF 106 with a six car 1st Kaiser road switcher on the Columbero Spur in Rancho Cucamonga, missing bright sunshine by less than a minute...oh well.

That was it, at least there was a little sun. The weather for next weekend isn’t sounding too good, at least as of now.

Does anyone know the purpose of them going to NSRM, and if it's temporary or permanent?

Cowl units over Cajon once again, who would have thought. What a wonderful catch! The GP60’s look pretty awesome as well. Great images!
