Western Railroad Discussion > Manned BNSF Helpers on Joint Line 1 Feb 2019Date: 02/03/19 03:53 Manned BNSF Helpers on Joint Line 1 Feb 2019 Author: cozephyr Manned helpers on Joint Line Denver to Palmer Lake, CO, 1 February 2019.
1- BNSF 6120, ES44AC, & 5272 manned helpers were on southbound unit tank train at Greenland, CO. 2-BNSF 7172, ES44C4, continues south at Palmer Lake, CO, after manned helpers cut off on the fly at Palmer Lake. Note abutments under construction at left for future pedestrian bridge under construction (project stalled early 2019). Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 02/03/19 03:54 by cozephyr. Granted they are producing gas like crazy in the Bakken and Sidney, MT is on the edge of it. So the buyer(s) must have gotten a really good price as the shipping cost from Montana is much higher than it would be from Texas or Oklahoma.

Pulling the pin is one thing, reaching in to close the angle cocks - especially the one on the car ahead of the helper would be a difficult and dangerous task.

No matter where, it will add some new photo angles. Originally I was under the impression that it would be on the site of the original bridge crossing the Rio Grande into the lake area. While good, maybe farther north would offer some different views.
