Mother's Day Around Tulsa
Author: BNSF-6432

With good weather, sunshine (for the most part,) and an abundance of trains out running; my brothers and I made it out towards Cherokee Yard for some activity and variety. Traffic had seemed to be backed up most of the day and it seemed to finally be flowing in during the evening. A total of 10 trains were in the area in just a three hour span. We weren't able to catch all the good stuff but did get some results.

1) 466 returns from Williams light power coming through East Cherokee before crossing the river and heading straight for the diesel shop.

2) A quick passing shot showing the Arkansas River at an unusual depth due to the recent flooding and rain.

3) Right behind was a KCKTUL with fresh and rough looking CP units.

4) A contrast between several years of paint jobs.

5) With three trains waiting, a trimmer job shoves back into the clear to allow the first of the three westbounds to depart.

6) Overlooking a diamond no longer used in either direction, the pair of SD40's disappears into Cherokee Yard.

7) First out is a high priority TULBAR with a pair of ES44's for the journey westbound

8) Our luck with the sun ran out with the one train we were waiting for all day, fortunately for Zach he was back at Union where the sun emerged for his shot.

9) A clouded shot of CN 2454
