Tracks have meandered through the Denver Stockyards for years. Denver Rock Island RR (DRIR) currently operates the tracks at the National Western Complex, Denver, Colorado. Tracks will be removed in the coming year when new trackage is built along BNSF’s Brush Subdivision. New highway will run along the South Platte River next to the future Equestrian Center. Bob Krieger Cheyenne, WY Date: 06/08/19 20:50 Re: Denver Rock Island RR Stockyards Power Author: dt8089 We were able to catch the SW900m out and about on May 20 before our flight home from chasing the UP 4014. But just FYI this unit was a former Rock Island SW900m 553 that was rebuilt by EMD in 1957 from an SC #525. This unit worked at Coors as their number C987 before going to the Denver Rock Island and being renumbered as 553. So it was cool to see this old Rock Island unit working on the former Rock Island in Denver. Dan
