An officer helped a woman who was in town for a party, but her GPS was sending her to Town Hall.

A resident told police that someone had threatened to remove a sign from his property.A resident on South Gibbons Road reported an aggressive coyote was on the back of their property that wouldn’t go away. The coyote eventually left.

Someone reported that a lot of gravel had been dumped onto Skyline Drive. An officer spoke with the company, which said employees were having an issue with their tractor but were going to move the gravel that evening.

A caller reported an orange cat and gray cat were fighting in the middle of the road, and cars were having to swerve to miss them. One vehicle went into the ditch. The “caller tried to break it up.” The cats were gone when the officer arrived.

A resident on Shenandoah Drive reported that he got home and found the house was flooded. Someone had turned on the faucets and plugged the drains so the water would overflow. He said no one else was home or had an extra key to the house, all the doors were secure and nothing seemed to have been stolen.

A caller reported hearing gunshots near the intersection of East FM 1830 and Hickory Hill Road. The responding officer determined that it was fireworks.

A man came into the Subway restaurant at 100 Country Club Road around 7:50 p.m., displayed a weapon— without removing it from his pants — and demanded cash from the register. He took the cash and fled. No one was hurt. Argyle Police sandwiched the suspect two days later with the help of the Denton Police Department.

Someone reported a minivan was sitting near the Subway. The responding officer found that the driver had just pulled over to use the phone.

An officer advised several construction crews on Carrington Drive, Aberdeen Boulevard and 5T Ranch Road that a town ordinance prohibits construction on Sunday, so they stopped working.

An officer stopped near the train tracks at West Harpole Road because a man was standing very close to the tracks, taking photos. He told the officer he was waiting for a train to come by so he could photograph it, and the officer advised him to not get too close to the tracks.

Someone reported that two girls were “aggressively knocking on doors” in the area of Woodland Trail and Bent Creek Cove.

Someone reported a turkey was blocking traffic at Frenchtown Road and Hwy 377. The responding officer noted that the turkey was “off the roadway and heckling Argyle Auto Care customers.” The turkey returned to the roadway to delay rush hour traffic later that day.

A woman reported that several cows had moseyed onto her property on East Hickory Ridge Circle.A caller reported a large turkey was chasing someone on a bike on Frenchtown Road. Officers are unsure how the turkey learned to ride the bike.

A realtor showing a vacant house on Denton Street to a potential buyer found that the windows were unlocked and there was food in the refrigerator.

An officer saw a vehicle in a driveway on Nora Lane with all of its doors open, and valuables inside left untouched. The officer secured the vehicle.


There have been multiple complaints about a dog being neglected at a house in the 300 block of Willow Street. On Feb. 4 at 1:36 p.m., police and All American Dogs staff looked at the dog and found it appears to be healthy, and there was a bowl of water in the room.

A man who lives on Knight Street reported that when he goes to get his mail, his neighbor’s dogs chase him and try to bite him.


Multiple drivers reported that TxDOT work on the traffic lights at the intersection of Hwy 377 and FM 407 was causing major delays. Some of the feedback from motorists included, “no one knows what they are doing” and “people don’t know what to do with the blinking lights.”

A caller reported people running the stop sign at the intersection of Dallas Street and Mesquite Street. An officer gave a warning to a truck driver who admitted to running the stop sign, and then he witnessed another vehicle run the stop sign.


A resident on Stonecrest Road reported that a man came to her door posing as an IRS agent, but the phone number on the card he left doesn’t go back to the name on the card.A driver ran out of diesel near the intersection of Hwy 377 and FM 407.
An officer gave him a ride to the gas station and back.

A woman reported that someone stole her son’s phone and used it to ask for nude pictures from females.A driver reported that someone was throwing rocks at a vehicle on Hwy 377 south of FM 1171.

Police arrested a motorist for reckless driving after another person reported that a truck was trying to run another vehicle off the road.Callers reported a vehicle parked on Johns Well Court. Both times, the officer found the people who had been in the vehicle were out planting trees.

A resident on Stonecrest Road reported that someone ran over his mailbox, as well as some other mailboxes and a fence.A driver flagged down an officer on FM 407 to report there were five loose cows along I-35W. The officer located a wayward group of small calves, and they ran back through the fence and into their pasture when the officer approached them.

Someone reported seeing six or seven goats dead in a pasture near the intersection of Myrtle Drive and FM 407. An officer spoke to the homeowner, who said the goats died of cold weather and they will dispose of the goats.

A lone suspect entered PointBank on Hwy 377, demanded cash and fled the scene. No one was injured. Argyle Police and the FBI are investigating. Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to contact Argyle PD at 940-464-7254 or argylepd@argyletx.com.

A woman reported that her kids found a gun while cleaning up the side of the road near FM 407 and Steeplechase Circle.

Someone reported that there was “a pile of dead animals” on a goat farm on FM 407.

Someone reported a dead horse and two dead deer in a pasture near Ben Boyd Road and FM 407. The officer was unable to locate any dead animals, only seeing several horses walking around, alive and well.

Police were called to a verbal dispute between neighbors over a mailbox on East Harpole Road.

Someone called police to conduct a welfare check on a woman who lives on Creekside Trail. The woman was reportedly fine, just busy taking down Christmas decorations.

WTF?

Some interesting stuff there Shane.The Harassment ( if you can call it that ) of Railroad photographers seems to have eased up a good deal in the last couple of years.Seems like there was a post here every other day of someone being detained by police or RR authorities for pointing a camera at a train.Of course,some  behaviour displayed by  Rail enthusiasts warrents some scrutiny at times.

After reading this I may be too afraid to visit the high crime town of Argyle again Shane.  

Taw, he left , moved to Tyler, tx.  I guess all those turkies got to him.

My favorite was the Subway robbery where Argyle police later « sandwiched » the culprit!

One of my employees moonlights as weekend dispatcher for Argyle PD
and keeps me informed on the goings on there.

Based on some of those calls, all of which were interesying, some people just have too much time on their hands.
