Western Railroad Discussion > A BNSF PSR freight over Java/Nimrod TrestleDate: 06/16/19 21:58 A BNSF PSR freight over Java/Nimrod Trestle Author: inCHI This is an eastbound BNSF mixed freight on 5/24/2019 at 11:00am crossing the Nimrod or Java Trestle on the Hi Line. (I saw both names for the bridge.) It combines some mixed freight, mostly lumber products, with a few well cars of international stacks and a long cut of autoracks; a combo I haven't seen before on BNSF trains. I didn't catch the symbol over the scanner, though - does anyone have a guess at what it might have been?

RB Date: 06/17/19 00:48 Re: A BNSF PSR freight over Java/Nimrod Trestle Author: mapboy Four days later it was on the Chillicothe Sub in illinois on the V TACLPC1-22, so it took 6 days from Tacoma. It possibly went into Galesburg Yard to set out the manifest cars. Nice video!

By going in to Galesburg, not only could they set out the manifest cars (if that is what they did), that also put them in position to get on the Chillicothe Sub for the final lap to Logistics Park Chicago, which is south of Joliet, rather than having to use the CN (former EJ&E) trackage rights to get to Joliet. That would be where the autos and international containers would be going. But being from the east, in what western state and near what town is this trestle? I thought that BNSF was eschewing PSR.

I was there just a few days before, on the 19th. Those might be my tire tracks. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 06/21/19 16:54 by TCnR. |
