I like the new Prime color scheme on their trailers.

You would think that a company that was talking about drone delivery would use contianers and not trailers.  Seems odd to me.
Thanks for posting.

it seems that a "fleet" of hot e/b z's tends to blow through the kingman area of the bnsf's seligman sub in the late afternoon.  i find the different trailers/containers on these trains interesting.

i THINK i filmed this train a week ago on either tue or wed.

thanks for the comments and i'll start filming and posting more of these shooters...........

Train looks like the ZSBDALT9 I saw at Barstow yesterday morning, but I don't know when you took the video. The Amazon Prime trailers always go east on that train or the ZSBDWSP9 that folllows through Barstow early in the afternoon, but that train always has five units for power.

Good video - enjoyed the show.

Amazon does not yet have that many loads moving by intermodal to have their own container chassis pool.  JBHunt has their own chassis. Note on the train some JBHunt containers are riding on chassis, they are trying to balance their chassis pool. Amazon would have to use a 3rd party chassis pool and that can be big problems if the freight needs to move with guaranteed service.
Chassis is the big problem with railroad container freight. No brakes, no lisence tag, no lights, no mudflaps, flat tires., other problems. Been there done that, it can cause delays at destination. Railroad will put container on any chassis they find if it is a pool chassis.
With a trailer you do not have a problem as you have everything the same as departed origin on the train.

Outstanding video and a feast for the eyes.

Reading the headline, I first thought Prime Intermodal.   That is a major company riding BNSF rails for nearly two decades.   I think "Prime" should still refer to that company, and perhaps "Amazon" should refer to these blue trailers.

Thanks for this,  I knew there were problems with chassis but not the extent of them.
