Big S-curve west of Ellensburg, WA
Author: BrianA

Up till now I had never shot video of an eastbound going through the MP 11-12 curves between Thorp and Bristol on BNSF's Stampede Sub but I finally did last Saturday 6-29-19.  The train is an empty grainer on the ex-Northern Pacific led by BNSF 6433/8099 with DPU 7420 shoving on the rear.  The former Milwaukee Road ROW was on the other side of the river.  Also watch for a couple of BN green covered hoppers.  The video is long because the train was moving very slow and a few cars pass behind me on US10, but I still like the sight and sounds of a train here.

No need for flange oilers on continuous welded rail? Would I be right to think the concrete ties help the track stay put on earth thats a little unstable so close to the river?

Neat vid.
