Western Railroad Discussion > Last Friday among the trees

Spent last Friday afternoon along BNSF's Staples Sub near the town of Philbrook where eastbounds on double track converge down to single track. The DS was letting a pseudo-fleet of westbounds through before turning a al-out fleet of eastbounds loose onto the single track. 

1) A westbound loaded frac sand train rolls thru a break in the trees east of Philbrook with CP power. The next westbound behind was a crude oil empty with a CP leader but the sun wasn't playing nice!

2) The last westbound before the eastbound fleet was released was a Northtown-Dilworth manifest with NS power helping the charge.
