Scaling Mt Navarre in Kansas

And you thought Kansas was flat as a pancake, dintcha?

1. 2. & 3. BNSF 6891 has scaled the treacherous Mount Navarre in Dickinson County, KS. It took a while ‘cause there were 100-some-odd loaded grain hoppers in tow. Oh yeah, there was also a pair of DP units tossing in some pumpkin power at the stern.

It’s all down hill from here?

Funny, I thought that was just the curvature of the earth, with a long telephoto. With a long enough lens, even the ocean can be a mountain scene...

Glad he had his dynamic brakes working or the runaway could have doomed Lance.

And Kansas doesn't have any trees either!  LOL.

Good one, Lance, thanks for posting.

Like the last shot of the power tipping over the mountain!

A quick check of the elevation map shows a whopping 57 feet of elevation gain/loss between
Hope KS and Navarre.  You might want to back off on the fermented beverages before calling
it "Mt Navarre";)
